Revlon Lip Butter Review

I picked up a new shade of lip butter the other day in ‘Peach Parfait’, that was suitable for wearing at school- a ‘your lips but better’ kinda thing.

The colour comes across as quite shear, but I love the glitter in it- it’s not too intense, but it catches in the light. The formula of these lip butters is so moisturising, and you can definitely apply them quickly and without the requirement of a mirror, so great for on-the-go. It is one of my goals to own all of the colours of these lipsticks; they are just so nice. My only issue would be that they don’t last long enough in my opinion. I suppose that is why they don’t retail as lip ‘sticks’ but as lip ‘butters’, hinting they are more of a lip balm. The Revlon Lip Butters are available here (they’re on 2 for £10 atm!) where the picture displayed is wrong, but the product described is right (tut tut Boots).

What is your favourite shade in the lip butter range?

Review: Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick

Whilst strolling the aisles of Boots the other day for the perfect Marilyn Munroe lippie, I came across this. The shade ‘Alarm’ looked good swatched in the store, so at just £4.99 there were no second thoughts- it was already mine. I should point out that although this is marketed with a ‘smooth creamy texture’, I found it relatively creamy to apply, but the end result is quite matte. As far as pigmentation goes, I’m impressed- it is very true to colour. For the ‘intense long-lasting colour for up to 8 hours’ I would definitely be layering it to build up an opaque colour. Another feature I am partial to with this is the shape of the lipstick; the sharp point is effective for outlining the lips before filling in. I understand that for a lipstick this is quite normal, but for drugstore lip products, this isn’t always a given. Overall, a good quality lipstick for the price (God bless Rimmel for being affordable). Below you can get an idea of what it looks like on me:

Any excuse for ducklips, eh? 😉

Let me know what you think of the colour. There is a varied colour range, if you’re not into the reds- this lipstick is available here amongst it’s 9 other shades. I noticed on the website ‘Alarm’ looked on the pinky side, but as you can see form the photos above, it really isn’t very pinky. Weird.

Anyway, that wraps up today’s post. Bye for now!

New Look’s Shabby Chic Range

You’re lying if you are telling me that title didn’t excite you. I love all things room decor- from decorative cushions to vintage tins to candles… the possibilities are endless. As you can imagine, I performed a little happy dance when I saw the new decor range whilst browsing New Look. Everything is shabby chic-themed and the prices are impressive. Today I’m just sharing one item, but you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be back with more. This time round I got a set of three ‘trinket trays’. They are so darn cute.

Can we just take a moment?

Do you like them as much as I do? A steal at £4.99 I think. I’m planning on using these little guys for holding little tit-bits such as bobby pins, paperclips, lip balms, etc. So next time you’re in New Look, keep a beady eye out for cute shabby chicness.

That’s all, folks!
